Monday June 27 WWRC Meeting – Speaker Dr. Greg Brannon

Dr. Brannon and his family
Our speaker this month is Dr. Greg Brannon, one of North Carolina’s leading voices on health care.
Dr. Brannon launched the organization Founders’ Truth in 2009 with the simple intent of advocating a return of our country to its founding constitutional principles. The goal is to empower the individual to discern between true Founders’ principles and the present day falsehoods. His topic of Patriotism and the Founding Fathers is especially appropriate as we approach the 4th of July holiday.
All present or prior WWRC Members and Guests are welcome.
Questions? Please visit westernwakegop.org or call Bill Clark at 919-740-3626.

Flag Day Picnic Chili Cookoff
In addition to food from Danny’s Barbeque, there will be a Chili Cookoff Contest at our Flag Day Picnic on Saturday June 18th. Rumor has it that Bill Clark considers his victory to be a foregone conclusion. Do YOU have a chili recipe that will make the tears roll down Bill’s face? Bring it on!!
Here are some of the Chili Contest rules that our Rules Committee Chair, Darren Eustance, has come up with:
- You must purchase a picnic ticket to enter the cook-off. But you can enter as many chili varieties as you like since there are a lot of people to feed.
Chili should be made in advance – bring it in a crock pot or insulated container to keep it warm. - Extra points awarded if your recipe uses an endangered species.
- You don’t have to be a Republican.
- If you make extra hot chili (I’m looking at you Bill), you are required to bring your own fire extinguisher.
- You will NOT be given extra credit for fulfilling a quota of different bean varieties or colors. Nor will extra credit be given for using bean varieties that have been “historically discriminated against” in chili recipes. Rather, each bean shall be judged in it’s own merits.
- None of the ingredients are allowed to have been purchased with funds from either TARP or the Stimulus.
- Extra credit if the chili is hot enough to increase your carbon footprint.
The winner of the Chili Cookoff will receive a $20 gift certificate to Danny’s and one of our new WWRC T-shirts. XXL size, of course!
Order your tickets now as we need to provide a ticket count to Danny’s by Thursday evening.
